Wow what an inspiring talk on HAPPINESS. Have listened to this a few times and I seem to take in something different each time. One of the great tips he gives is to write down 3 things each day that we are grateful for. This helps us to change the brain from being problem focused to being pleasure focused. Want to know if your thoughts are more focused on whats wrong rather than whats right in life. Ask yourself this. ….If you visited 10 shops, 9 of which had really helpful staff, making it a very pleasant shopping experience where you felt valued as a customer and as an individual but the 10th shop had a really unhelpful, infact down right rude sales assistant who ignored you when you needed help and then took a personal call when you were at the pay point even though you had said you were in a rush. Who do you think about after? The 9 positive experiences or the 1 awful one?…. Food for thought…. We can change where the brain focus though and it starts with having an attitude of gratitude.
My gratitude list for today
1. that I awoke at 4:30 to the sound of birds singing through the open window.
2. that I was able to close over the window and get back to sleep – much needed:-)
3. that my gorgeous nephew is visiting today.
