Anyone feel like doing a gratitude challenge with me for 21 days? I decided to take this challenge myself and then decided that it would be way more fun if more of ye got involved. It’ll take just a few minutes daily and it’ll be so worthwhile.
“If you can raise someone’s level of positivity in the present, then their brain experiences a HAPPINESS ADVANTAGE.
Your brain at positive performs significantly better (31% better) than it does at negative, neutral or stressed. Your intelligence rises, your creativity rises, and your energy levels rise.” – Shawn Achor
NOW FOR THE CHALLENGE
Write down 3 NEW things that you’re grateful for each day for 21 days. You can post your daily list to our facebook page or jot them down in a notebook. Doing this will help to rewire your brain to look for and to recognize the positive.
The human brain, as remarkable as it is, has a negativity biase which is designed to keep us safe and protect us from threats. So this means our brains are wired for survival and not so much for happiness which was so useful in ‘cave man’ days. However fortunately these days most of us live in an environment where there is little risk to our physical survival so it is a good idea to learn how to take in more of the good stuff. Its not about shutting out difficult or challenging experiences its just about bringing more balance into our state of mind so we can enjoy life more. Happiness is a skill after all and therefore can be trained.
I’m starting today as I feel at the moment I could do with this challenge but you can join in anytime 🙂 I’d love that.
