indful Way was founded by Kathryn O’Halloran after discovering the benefits mindfulness brought to her own life and the wish to share this way of being with others. Kathryn is a qualified nurse with over 20 years experience, both at home and abroad. Kathryn has been practising yoga and meditation for over ten years. She has undergone formal training in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy at the Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice, Bangor University, Wales. She has also completed Phase 4 in the training pathway to certification in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction with the Centre for Mindfulness, University of Massachusetts.
In May 2015 Kathryn was delighted to be made an associate of the Centre for Mindfulness Ireland.
In July 2014 Kathryn became a certified teacher in .b (pronounced dot-be) with The Mindfulness In Schools Project. This is a 9 session programme developed for 11-18 year olds which fits in well to the SPHE curriculum in schools. It can also be taught in youth and community group settings. Click here for more information about this programme.
Mindful Way offers mindfulness courses suitable for a variety of settings including hospitals, schools, businesses and communities. Kathryn will tailor courses to suit different environments and participants needs as required. Courses range from short introduction to mindfulness sessions to the 8 week evidence based Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction programme.
Many companies have introduced mindfulness training as part of their wellness initiative as stress in the workplace is so prevalent. Lunchtime sessions can work well as well as half or full day mindfulness workshops.
Kathryn adheres to the Irish Good Practice Guidelines for Teaching Mindfulness-Based Courses which include receiving regular supervision sessions and engaging in ongoing training and retreats.
