indful Way was founded by Kathryn O’Halloran after discovering the benefits mindfulness brought to her own life and the wish to share this way of being with others. Kathryn is a qualified nurse with over 20 years experience, both at home and abroad and has been practising yoga and meditation since 2000. She is a qualified Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher, having trained with the Centre for Mindfulness, University of Massachusetts. She has also undergone formal training in MBSR and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) at the Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice, Bangor University, Wales.
In May 2015 Kathryn was delighted to be made an associate of the Centre for Mindfulness Ireland.
Kathryn is a certified teacher in .b (pronounced dot-be) with The Mindfulness In Schools Project. This is a programme developed for 11-18 year olds which fits in well to the SPHE curriculum in schools. Click here for more information about this programme. She is also trained in the Mindful Schools curriculum, a 16 session programme for 5 – 17 year olds. Click here for more on this organisation.
Mindful Way offers mindfulness courses suitable for a variety of settings including hospitals, schools, businesses and communities. Kathryn will tailor courses to suit different environments and participants needs as required. Courses range from short introduction to mindfulness sessions to the 8 week evidence based Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction programme.
Many companies have introduced mindfulness training as part of their wellness initiative as stress in the workplace is so prevalent. Lunchtime sessions can work well as can half or full day mindfulness workshops.
Kathryn adheres to the Good Practice Guidelines for Teaching Mindfulness-Based Courses which include receiving regular supervision sessions and engaging in ongoing training and retreats.
